The Reverend Geoffrey Piper

The Reverend Geoffrey Piper is a lifelong Episcopalian. His college degrees are from Amherst College, Regent University, and Bishop’s University. He was ordained in the Anglican Church of Canada, and spent his earliest years in ministry along the Lower North Shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, near Labrador and Newfoundland. As a pastor, he has high regard for the authority and reliability of Holy Scripture. In ministry, he focuses on inward transformation, growth in grace, loving witness and service. Geoffrey’s 40 years of parish ministry have been in outport fishing villages of northern Quebec; small towns in Quebec and New England; downtown Detroit; Metro-Detroit suburbs; and resort settings in Massachusetts, Florida, and Michigan. He served at St. Andrew’s over the winter season of 2019-20 as an assisting priest with The Rev. Michelle Robertshaw. He and his wife, Leslie, have three grown children--Benjamin, Nathaniel and Katharine--as well as five grandchildren.

Joys for him are to be found in celebrating Leslie’s love over the past 42 years, wrangling grandchildren, trout and salmon fishing, woodworking, WW II history, and family genealogy research. Leslie and Geoffrey’s home is in Canton, Michigan, midway between Ann Arbor and Detroit.
