We’re So Glad You’re Considering Baptism

When is Baptism Celebrated?

Holy Baptism is most appropriately administered during the Holy Eucharist on a Sunday or on one of the Church’s principal feast days:

  • The Easter Vigil
  • The Day of Pentecost
  • All Saints’ Day (November 1)
  • The Sunday after All Saints’ Day
  • The Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord (the first Sunday after Epiphany)

Whenever possible, Baptisms should be scheduled on these occasions or when a bishop is present. Because the season of Lent is a time of prayer, reflection, and penitence, Baptisms are not conducted during Lent.
