HOW CAN YOU HELP?
The St. Andrew's Outreach Team is working to assess the needs within our area. As you can imagine, the need is great. We have set up a "Hurricane Relief Fund" to receive financial donations. 100% of these donations will be directed to helping the needs within our community.
A note from the Chair of the Outreach Committee, Greg Wilson ... The Boys and Girls Club of Englewood, one of the organizations St. Andrews has supported for years, was greatly impacted by Hurricane Ian. Their meeting place, Gulf Cove Methodist Church, sustained major damage and as a result of that damage they no longer have a place to meet. The bus that was used to transport the students from their school to the church was also destroyed. The program provides after school care and activities for the children of low income families in Charlotte County. Once they establish a new temporary location, there will be a need for school supplies, office supplies, art supplies, laptops, snacks, sports equipment and a new school bus. We will stay in touch with the Boys and Girls Club to determine the best way to assist them and we will keep you posted. They will need and greatly appreciate any support we can provide to them.

A note from Lynn Dorler Executive Director Boys & Girls Clubs of Charlotte Co.

Thank you for reaching out. Our Englewood Boys & Girls Club was destroyed.
Gulf Cove Methodist Church (where the Englewood B&G Club meets) is working with Serv Pro to mitigate and cover the damages.
Hopes are that we will be able to serve kids in about two to three weeks in the sanctuary.
We lost all programming supplies and equipment.
Our biggest need is to find a replacement bus, so when we are able to open we can pick up kids at school.
Our bus was damaged badly during the storm. We have some insurance, but it won’t cover all the costs.
In the mean time we our serving kids from Englewood at our Port Charlotte location (Family Services Center) until school is ready to open.
